Perugia is only 45 minutes from Il nido. It is the capital of Umbria and the largest town. Getting into the centre was a nightmare and we dreaded giving directions to the visitors who decided to brave its elaborate system of one way streets and underground car parks. That has now changed and visitor can go to the large car park on the outside at the STADIO using their sat nav and then take the Minimetro (a sky bridge train system) to the centre.

Perugia has Perugino painting galore in the National Gallery and nearby chapels. It is a fascinating maze of medieval lanes and alleyways There is the major museum for Umbria and excellent shopping.
