Within easy walking distance of Il Nido there are plenty of landscapes and townscapes to tempt the imagination of the artist.
The borgo of Castel di Fiori is a medieval village with a tower dating to the 14th century.

There are lovely landscapes to paint. The mountains of Amiata and Cetona are on the skyline and sunsets can be spectacular.
In winter the snowscapes are particularly attractive with the little villages here and there to provide points of interest.
In spring and summer the wildflowers and the green forests are all around as are rustic farmhouses and outbuildings.
In late summer the golden grain and the sunflowers provide glorious colour and in autumn the foliage of the oak trees is excellent as a study in changing light.
