The climate at Podere valle Pulcini and Il Nido is roughly Mediterranean. I say "roughly' because the altitude of 550 m means that the winters are much colder than the classic mild winters of the Mediterranean but we also avoid the extreme heat of summer.
To track the weather at Podere valle Pulcini use the free weather site www.ilmeteo.it and type in "Montegabbione" for the comune. This will provide a five day weather forecast of temperature, rain and wind.

While the total rainfall is more than 50% greater than London or Adelaide most of the rain falls in autumn and winter.
The total rainfall is considerably greater than London but the number of rainy days is much less.
August is the driest month with an average rainfall of 21 mm and only three days of rain on average. The most common rain for August is a single thunderstorm lasting a few hours.
November is the wettest month with an average of 150 mm and 11 days of rain.
December and January frequently have long periods of clear cold weather as Il Nido is at 550 m and above the fog line that blankets many of the valleys of central Italy in winter.
Summer temperatures are a maximum of 28º to 30º with perhaps a few days that reach 33º but again the altitude takes the edge off the extremes that occur in the cities at lower levels.
Overnight minimums during summer are in the 18º to 20º range.
Winter maximums are below 10º with a few cold spells and snow where the thermometer does not reach zero all day. Il Nido has central heating and a fireplace.

Figaro tests the snow. Unfortunately we cannot lay it on for Christmas as snow usually falls in January or February.
Il Nido is sheltered from strong winds by a ridge that provides protection against the cold tramontana wind that blows from the North East. Another ridge to the south protects Il Nido from the hot sirrocco.
